Russian businessman Alex Konanykhin is offering a million-dollar bounty to «any police officer who fulfills his constitutional duty to arrest Putin as a war criminal under Russian and international law.»
In a post on LinkedIn, Konanykhin writes that:
Putin was not supposed to be the Russian president as he came to power as a result of a special operation of apartment building explosions in Russia, he then broke the constitution by eliminating free elections and killing his opponents.
On his Facebook page, the businessman posted a post in which Putin appears on a Wild West-style poster with the text «Wanted Dead or Alive».
But it did not take long before it was deleted from Facebook. According to Konanykhin, this was probably due to the wording «Dead or Alive».
Media around the world have since written about the offer to Konanykhin.
The businessman published a new post where he writes:
– My offer is noticed. If a thousand people spit in a million each, it would amount to a billion.
Konanykhin began his career by founding a private bank in Russia towards the end of the communist regime and has, according to the Jerusalem Post, a turbulent history with Russian authorities.
In 1992, his companies were worth around $ 300 million. That same year, however, he left Russia with his wife, and seven years later he was granted political asylum in the United States.
– As a Russian citizen of Russian ethnicity – he wrote in his post – I see it as my moral duty to facilitate the de-Nazification of Russia. I will continue my assistance to Ukraine in its heroic efforts to resist the onslaught of Putin’s horde.
Must be brought to justice
After Facebook banned the post – Konanykhin explained himself further.
He says:
– Some reports indicate that I promised to pay for the assassination of Putin. It is not correct. Although such a result would have been hailed by millions of people around the world, I believe Putin must be brought to justice.
Konanykhin is currently part of ‘Circle of Money’ on the TV show ‘Unicorn Hunters’ – a technological version of Shark Tank – with Apple co-founder Steve Wozniak. He studied at the Moscow Physics and Technical Institute before dropping out and starting a number of businesses, including real estate and banking.
