Bruce Willis, the esteemed 68-year-old actor best known for his iconic role in the «Die Hard» movies, has been diagnosed with a severe form of frontotemporal dementia. This diagnosis came just a year after Willis ended his acting career due to aphasia, a language disorder caused by brain disease or injury.
In a recent appearance on «The Drew Barrymore Show,» Willis’ daughter, Tallulah Willis, provided an update on her father’s condition. She described it as «very rare» and «aggressive.»
«The situation with my dad is that he is battling a very aggressive cognitive disease, a form of dementia that is quite rare,» the 29-year-old said during the talk show, as reported by Sky News.
The Willis family has chosen to be transparent about Bruce’s health challenges and his treatment. Tallulah emphasized the importance of raising awareness about frontotemporal dementia, noting the limited information available on this condition. Tallulah, one of Willis’ three daughters with actress Demi Moore, shared that the family spends a lot of time together, using music as therapy.
«Playing music and being in that energy of love, it’s really special,» she said.
When asked about her father’s current state, Tallulah responded, «He is himself, which I think is the best we can ask for in this situation. I see love when I am with him; he is my dad, and he loves me.»
Amidst the challenges of dementia, the Willis family has also experienced joyous moments. Another daughter of Bruce Willis, Rumer Willis, recently gave birth to a baby girl. This summer, Rumer posted a touching photo of her father holding his granddaughter.
«Seeing my dad hold my daughter today was something I will cherish for the rest of my life. His sweetness and love for her were so pure and beautiful. Dad, I am so lucky to have you, and so is Lou. Thank you for being the silliest, most loving, coolest dad a girl could ask for,» Rumer wrote alongside the beautiful picture.
