After Harry and Meghan stepped back from their royal duties, a cold war has begun between the Duke and Duchess of Sussex and the rest of the British royal family. Now, King Charles is set to meet his youngest son for the first time since the release of the scandalous book «Spare».
Harry and Meghan have often used the media to lash out against the royal family, who are in a position where they can hardly respond to the airing of dirty laundry that Prince Charles’ youngest son and daughter-in-law have chosen to make public.
Now, OK! reports that there are plans for a meeting between Charles and Harry.
According to sources, the meeting is supposed to take place during the closing of the Invictus Games next month.
Invictus Games is a para-sports competition for disabled veterans, which has long been a cause close to Prince Harry’s heart. In connection with this year’s event, which will take place in Germany, the Duke and Duchess’s production company, Archewell Productions, will be creating the series «Heart of Invictus» in collaboration with streaming giant Netflix.
The source says to the magazine that King Charles has rescheduled an official visit to France on September 20th, in order to have a couple of extra days in London and meet Prince Harry. The staff at Buckingham Palace are working diligently to finalize all the details of the visit.
The meeting will be the first between father and son after Prince Harry’s book bombshell, «Spare,» was released in January. In it, Harry leveled harsh accusations against his brother, Prince William, and against his stepmother, Queen Camilla.
The scandalous book is said to have upset King Charles, who was deeply hurt by some of the claims made by Prince Harry.
– The king loves his son very much, but he has been deeply hurt by what he has done. He will always be there for him, but draws the line at airing their dirty laundry in public. If conversations take place, the king will make it very clear that there will absolutely be no public discussions about private matters in the future, the source says.
